Tell the truth, or someone will tell it for you.

Crazy how connections between people can go from doing life together one day, to only an Instagram relationship of posts and likes the next.
I don’t want to just know you on Instagram, behind filters and chosen pictures. Id like to know YOU, the real one.
You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

I have never felt so in tune with God’s blessing as I do now. When things in our earthly lives are either going wrong or going well, we are usually so focused on those feelings of joy or pain that we aren’t exactly as in tune with God as we think we are. In the good times, we remind ourselves that our God is a God of joy and infinite blessings and that he loves us. And in bad times we remind ourselves that our God is a God of purpose and that his timing prevails. All those things are true, but to actually feel those truths in your heart without being swayed by pure earthly conditions, now that is something else.
2014 for me has been filled with countless moments where God just really surprises me with his timing. To be able to look at an event as really be able to say “oh, so that’s what you were doing all along.” Each moment just assures me that I need to stop worrying so much and let God take the wheel.
Going into this Lenten season, I am really excited to see how much more I am going to grow with God. I’m excited for what he has in store for me. But even before that, I know that being diligent in my faith to him is most important. Lent is a season for reflection, repentance, and prayer. It’s about introspection and self examination. I pray that we would all remember that fasting is about giving up things that we are consumed by, and using that time to focus on God as well as fight through the struggle of temptation by redirecting our focus towards Him.
Remember, it’s about God, not us. It always is.
It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.
